Furniture drawn for one room and one person.

Beds, bases and consoles made by hand from solid wood, to your measure. Nothing we make is made twice.

We do not keep a catalogue.

A Kuntraline piece starts with your room, the height of its ceiling, the way you sleep and the light that reaches the wall. Then we choose the tree. The two halves of the page above are cut from one board and opened like a book; that is how we begin every surface, and it is why no two of our pieces carry the same grain.

Three kinds of commission

A handmade walnut bed with a carved headboard and matching bedside tables in a dark, quiet bedroom

Beds and bases

The frame is cut to your mattress, your ceiling and your room. Solid wood throughout, joined without screws wherever the structure allows.

You set the height of the headboard, the depth of the base, the wood and the finish. Upholstery and inlay are optional.

Typically made in 14 to 20 weeks.

Consoles

Drawn to the wall they will stand against. Length, depth, leg profile and drawers are yours to set, as is the top: wood, stone or both.

A console is the first piece most clients commission from us, and often the one that decides the rest of the room.

Typically made in 8 to 12 weeks.

Headboards and panelling

Carved, fluted or quietly flat. A headboard can stop at the pillow or continue up the wall and across the room.

We make panelling in the same board sequence as the bed, so the grain carries from one to the other.

Typically made in 10 to 16 weeks.

One maker follows a piece from the first board to the last coat.

Handwork takes the time it takes. We would rather tell you the length of a commission honestly than promise a date the wood cannot keep.

    Delivery

Crated, shipped and installed by our own team or by trusted partners abroad.

The woods

Every board is different. The swatches here show the character of each species, not the exact grain of your piece. We send a physical sample before anything is cut.

    Questions we are often asked

    What does Kuntraline make?
Kuntraline makes beds and bases, consoles, and headboards and panelling by hand from solid wood. Every piece is drawn and built to commission for one room and one person. We do not keep a catalogue.
How long does a commission take?
Beds and bases typically take 14 to 20 weeks, consoles 8 to 12 weeks, and headboards and panelling 10 to 16 weeks. Handwork takes the time it takes, so we give an honest length rather than a date the wood cannot keep.
Why are there no prices on the site?
Every piece is made to commission, so there is nothing to price until we know what you need. Write to us and a maker from the atelier will reply within three working days with questions, and then a quotation.
Which woods do you work with?
European walnut, white oak, smoked oak, ash and ebonised oak. Boards are chosen from our stock for colour and figure, and we send a physical sample before anything is cut.
    Do you deliver internationally?
Yes. Pieces are crated, shipped and installed by our own team or by trusted partners abroad. Tell us the country of delivery when you request a commission.
How does the commissioning process work?
We start with a conversation by video or in the atelier. Scaled drawings and a wood sample reach you within two weeks, and we revise until it is right. One maker then follows the piece from the first board to the last coat of oil and wax.
